These symptoms may be indicative of hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids, also known as piles, are a common condition that affects millions of people worldwide. They are swollen and inflamed veins in the anus and rectum that can cause discomfort, pain, and bleeding. Hemorrhoids can be internal, which means they are located inside the rectum, or external, which means they are located outside the anus. Hemorrhoids can be classified into two main types: internal and external. 1.    Internal hemorrhoids are located inside the rectum and are not visible to the naked eye.
