The Early Language Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (ELLNA) is a tool developed by the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) to assess children's language, literacy, and numeracy skills. It is primarily used in Southeast Asian countries to monitor and improve early childhood education.

ELLNA is designed to measure children's abilities in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and mathematics. It provides valuable information for educators and policymakers to identify areas where children may need additional support and to tailor instructional strategies accordingly.

The assessment covers a range of skills appropriate for children aged 5 to 8 years old, typically those in kindergarten through primary school. ELLNA aims to support the development of strong foundational skills in language and mathematics, which are essential for academic success in later years.

ELLNA is important for several reasons:
