How to Create a New Apple ID on Your iPhone Quickly & Easily (Updated 2022)

 If you don't have an Apple ID, you can't use an iPhone effectively; luckily, it's easy to sign up for one.

You can use your Apple ID for any Apple account or service, including purchases associated with your Apple ID and iCloud account.

 In this article, we'll show you how to create an Apple ID using any of the iPad generations or iPhone models, from older versions like the iPhone 6, up to later models like the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE.

What Is an Apple ID?

Every Apple device you own has an Apple ID that you need to use.
Your Apple ID login includes an email address and password and allows access to your payment and contact information, as well as security questions and codes used on all your Apple accounts.
 If you want to sign up for Apple services that used to be under the umbrella of an iTunes account, you'll need your own Apple ID first.

How to Make a New Apple ID on Your iPhone or iPad

Now, if you've really never set up an Apple ID before, let's get started creating one! 

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Sign in to your iPhone at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Don't have an Apple ID or forgot it.
  4. Now tap Create Apple ID.
  5. Enter your First Name, Last Name, and Birthday, then tap Next at the upper right of the display.
  6. Enter your current email address, or tap Don't have an email address to get a free iCloud email address.
  7. To create an iCloud email address, find one that hasn't been taken, then tap Create Email Address.
  8. Create a Password, Verify it, and click Next. Your password needs to be at least eight characters long and have at least one uppercase and lowercase letter, and at least one numeral.
  9. ap Use a Different Number or Continue to confirm that it's ok to receive a text or call to verify your identity.
  10. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  11. Enter your iPhone Passcode, if it has one.
  12. You can choose to Merge or Not Merge the data on your iPhone to iCloud at this time.
  13. Open the Settings app again and tap the banner at the top of the page.
  14. From your Apple ID account page, you can adjust Payment & Shipping information, set up the iTunes and App Store, set up Family Sharing, Find My, and more.


Create an Apple ID using the App Store on your device

  1. Open the App Store and tap the sign-in button.  .
  2. Tap Create New Apple ID. If you don't see this option, make sure that you're signed out of iCloud.

  3. Follow the onscreen steps to provide an email address, create a strong password, and set your device region. The email address that you provide will be your new Apple ID.*
  4. Enter your credit card and billing information, then tap Next. You can also choose None. Learn what to do if None isn't showing or you can't select it. You won't be charged until you make a purchase. 
  5. Confirm your phone number. This can help to verify your identity and recover your account if needed. Tap Next.
  6. Check your email for a verification email from Apple and verify your email address.

After you verify your email address, you can use your Apple ID to sign in to the iTunes Store, App Store, and other Apple services such as iCloud.
